7.8.2017

Today, 7.8.2017, I released my second “best-of” retrospective compilation “B L A C K“. Unlike the previous compilation, “W H I T E” which highlighted vocal performance tracks I released over the last few years, I released “B L A C K”, a collection of mostly instrumentals with an agenda in mind.

I’ve decided to formally announce my retirement as a producer.

Since 2006, when I got hold of my first iteration of FL Studio (shout out to Big Charlie), I’ve been producing, arranging, composing and performing every bit of music I’ve ever released with obvious exceptions to a couple of covers and usage of samples. It’s liberating to work on my own time table, but that same liberation has become exhaustive and entirely dependent on my own limitations and ideas. That’s not the way that I want to continue making music. While I reserve the decision to end my retirement, I do feel it necessary to close that chapter of my life as a musician for the sake of doing something bigger, better, and with a higher possibility of breaking through into markets that’d be otherwise unavailable to me.

This means that I’m now opening myself in a more inclusive way to collaboration.

I’d ideally like to release a single, an EP, a split and a full length album over the course of the next year. I’m not looking to buy beats, but rather to work with other musicians on forming full length songs that both compliment my existing catalog and take a step forward aesthetically and sonically. I’d prefer not to rush anything, but rather find what works for me with regards to introducing something new that I haven’t done already with my own singular devices.

Thank you to everyone who has purchased music, seen me perform live, and otherwise shown their support over the last few years. I don’t want to let you down; rather, I want to take the investment of your time as motivation and do something even better than I’ve done in the past. Thank you in advance for your patience as I transition from an island of creativity to an expanding landmass of content.

Again, thank you, thank you, thank you.

B L A C K

My next compilation, “B L A C K”, is now due for release on July 8th, 2017 with pre-orders available through http://thedoyenne.bandcamp.com. This is a complement to the previous “best of” compilation “W H I T E”, instead focusing on non-vocal instrumental pieces spanning previous singles and experimental projects such as “S L O W” and “FUCK”. This release also commemorates a personal announcement on the same date, July 8th, to be revealed sometime that day.

Two tracks, “BLKFEYDIVINE” and “Boogie Up, Strut”, are available for download and streaming with every pre-order purchase.

Capstone Academia

“Capstone Academia” is a maxi-single release to commemorate my graduation from Glendale Community College in Glendale, AZ with an associate’s degree in Music Business. It is meant to supplement the upcoming release of my next musical narrative “BLKFEYDIVINE” and is the follow-up to the previous double A-Side Single “Forest of Asphodel”.

Update

Progress on development for my next project “BLKFEYDIVINE” is now mostly complete with regards to instrumental arrangements and plans to move forward to recording. The project has developed into a “four act musical narrative” as opposed to a traditional long or extended play format. No features are planned at the moment, but a release for September is tentatively planned with some kind of event to celebrate the release when it happens.

Update

BLKFEYDIVINE

The name of my next project will be BLKFEYDIVINE.

Right now, it’s planned as a promotional EP for the Summer and as a basis for a performance art project I’d like to pursue at some point within that time frame. The tracks include instrumentals from past project that I’ve since retooled for any myriad of reasons and brand new tracks that are still in the composition and structuring phase.

The tentative track listing is as follows:

1. TITANIA
2. Boogie Up Strut
3. BLKFEYDIVINE
4. BOSS
5. broken little toys
6. Everyday Evil
7. Capstone
8. You Lost Me

Thank you for your patience during this development and recording time.
